The course involves writing a degree project. The detailed content of the thesis is determined by the student's choice of topic and what the student needs to be able to write a thesis independently. The thesis should normally cover about 35 pages (written with single line spacing, 12 pt TNR). Within the framework of the degree project, the student is trained to identify and critically review relevant legal material, which involves studies in the literature and legal material relevant to the thesis topic, as well as studies in legal science methodology and material processing. The work is presented both orally and in writing.
What does the client/company get?
The client gets an answer to the question "what is the current law" - i.e. what does the law say? - in the context in which the thesis is written. Examples of questions that have been addressed are:
- How has the right to sickness benefit in Sweden changed over time?
- The compatibility of Swedish law with the EU's objective of species protection?
- What opportunities does SoL give municipalities to prevent compulsory removals under section 3 of LVU?
- How is the product selection rule applied in the licensing of the chemical industry?
- Under what conditions can a co-owner of a property add an object without the object becoming an accessory to the property and thus becoming real property?
How does it work?
The work is done in such a way that the students choose a topic to study in depth. Students also have the opportunity to discuss their choice of topic with potential supervisors at a workshop. The writing of the thesis includes (at least) four submission and thus review sessions. As soon as possible, a draft outline and purpose should be submitted to the supervisor for assessment. Once the focus of the work has been determined, supervision is provided as necessary. After about seven weeks, the student submits a rough manuscript. After review, the supervisor decides whether the thesis is ready for the final seminar. If so, a revised final manuscript is submitted to the supervisor and opponent. After corrections, the thesis is sent to the examiner who makes a final review. The thesis is then e-published.
What is required from the client?

- A contact person. The contact person at the company needs to be familiar with the problem and genuinely interested in the assignment.
