The course Information Security Governance adopts a strategic management perspective and focuses on the security work required to safeguard an organization.
Information security work within organizations largely involves ensuring that information is protected and handled correctly, and managing risks the organization faces. The course Information Security Governance adopts a strategic management perspective and focuses on the security work required to safeguard an organization.
During the course, you will learn, among other things, how to develop information security strategies, analyze and explain different types of management systems, and develop an information security program. The course also addresses the implementation and development of information security policies, ethical dilemmas, and governance and management models. Key concepts, models, and frameworks for the field of strategic information security are introduced and explored.
You will, among other things, learn to:
- Identify and understand the role of governance and strategic planning in an information security context.
- Use and differentiate between various types of information security policies.
- Develop and construct a security program.
- Reflect on and justify the choice of information security management models
Through lectures and practical exercises, you will acquire theoretical knowledge and skills that you can later apply in strategic security work. You will work individually to solve complex problems, preparing you for the challenges you will face in your professional career.
