In this course, you will explore emerging trends in technology and society. You aim to identify and select an emerging technology, explore its maturity, possibilities, and limitations, and assess its influence on future product offerings.
A significant portion of the course will be dedicated to speculative design, where you will envision potential futures shaped by these technologies. By combining speculative design with strategic foresight, you will explore how emerging technologies could evolve and impact society, business, and the environment. Through this process, you will evaluate and design solutions that are feasible (able to be implemented), sustainable (from business, ecological and societal perspectives) and desirable (satisfying human needs and values).
