The course provides a basic introduction to geochemistry and Earth's formation and changes.

The course aims to provide basic knowledge about geochemistry, Earth's formation and fractionation and changes over time. The course covers how elements are distributed in the different Earth’s compartments and how their mobility is determined. The course focuses on the transport mechanisms of elements within and between the lithosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere. The course also contains examples of Isotope geochemistry and their geoscientific applications.

Entry requirements:In order to meet the general entry requirements for first cycle studies you must have successfully completed upper secondary education and have documented skills in English language. Exemption for Swedish A and B / Swedish 1-3. + Upper secondary school courses English 6, Physics 2, Chemistry 1, Mathematics 4 or Mathematics E. Or: English level 2, Physics level 2, Chemistry level 1, Mathematics Further level 2 or Mathematics E.
