Environmental Geo-Forensic

Environmental forensics uses the geochemical fingerprint of lithological and hydrological samples to reconstruct contamination events. Element concentration and isotopic signatures are compared to historical data to identify the pollution source, age, and transport mechanisms within the different Earth’s compartments. The course will investigate existing patterns of environmental contaminants to define environmental and human health risks and to evaluate effective remediation measurements.
