You submit your application via universityadmissions.se. The final date for applications is 15 January 2026.
Audition
The audition for the Master Programme in Music Performance consists of:
- a personal statement (email)
- an audio/video portfolio
- a personal interview.
Applicants must submit these by Sunday, March 8 2026, to antagningsprovMUKOM@mailbox.ltu.se or alternatively to Luleå University of Technology in Piteå, Box 744, 941 63 Piteå. Mark the envelope with Master Musician.
Audio/video portfolio
Submit work samples along with the personal statement as clickable links to a broad selection of audio and/or video examples, preferably as YouTube links. We do not accept downloadable links, such as those from "yousendit.com."
The selection should provide a comprehensive view of your artistic profile. It is essential that each link is accompanied by detailed descriptions of when/how/where/why the recording was made and the exact role the applicant played in each production.
Digital recordings (video for classical, video or audio for jazz or rock) should be accessible via internet links (YouTube, Dropbox, Vimeo, etc.). Each link must be accompanied by detailed descriptions of when/how/where the recording was made.
Technical specifications for the recording
- The test pieces must be recorded in video format with good audio quality.
- Begin the recording by stating your name clearly and audibly.
- You must be visible in full figure throughout the entire recording.
- The camera should be positioned directly in front of you or at a slight angle from the front. Recordings filmed from behind or from the side will not be accepted.
- The recordings must be accessible via internet links, preferably as a YouTube link. We do not accept downloadable links such as “yousendit.com”.
- Each link must be accompanied by a detailed description of when, where, and how the recording was made.
Interview
After your work portfolio has been reviewed, a personal interview follows. The interview is conducted via Skype or Zoom.
We are looking for applicants who not only possess strong skills but also demonstrate awareness, reflection, and independence in their artistic practice.
During the interview, it is an advantage if you can describe a possible focus for your degree project. Since there is no set model for the degree project, it is favourable if the applicant is particularly passionate about a specific topic and has an awareness of both the subject to be explored, as well as the goals to be achieved.
