Building design for fire engineers and architects
Many of the challenges that arise in construction projects can be eased with a greater understanding of other disciplines. This is the course for you if you are a professional in the construction sector and feel that you want to increase your understanding of the designer's challenges and how the structure of a building works.

Teachers
Joakim Sandström, Lecturer in Fire Engineering. Joakim defended his PhD in 2019 with a thesis that focused on personal safety in fire in relation to load-bearing structures. In parallel with his doctoral studies, Joakim has worked for 15 years as a consultant specializing in fire-prone load-bearing structures.
Martin Nilsson, assistant professor in structural engineering. Teaches mainly in building technology for real estate agents, building construction for civil engineers, architecture and fire engineers, building mechanics and concrete structures for civil engineers. Defended his doctoral thesis in 2003 on stresses in young concrete, which has also been a post-doctoral research area. Now interested in the reuse of concrete elements.
