About the course
Our training in construction law is aimed at those who work in the construction and real estate industry, in urban development management, with purchasing and procurement or in other industries where it is good to have knowledge of construction law. During the training we follow a contract from design and procurement to the construction and warranty period. You will learn about standard contract systems (e.g. ABM, AB 04, ABT 06, ABK), procurement, environmental responsibility and conflict resolution. Insurance solutions are an important element of construction, and we highlight it with a review of insurance conditions and handling of claims.
Course structure
The course begins with an introduction to the sources of law and an orientation in legal problem solving methods.
The following areas of law are then covered:
- Construction law provisions that regulate legal relationships between the client, contractor, subcontractor, supplier, consultants, inspectors and other actors in the construction market.
- Contract law
- Standard contract law
- Public procurement
- In-depth study of liability issues in construction law
- Environmental liability in various forms
- Consumer contracts and the Consumer Services Act
The course comprises a total of 10 meetings divided into 6 digital meetings of three hours each and 4 half-day meetings on campus. The digital meetings are conducted via zoom.
Examination takes place via group exams, seminars and preparation of a written PM. After approved examination and 80% attendance at the course meetings, it is possible to apply for 7.5 credits.
