Contract education for the Public Employment Service - Programming
On behalf of Arbetsförmedlingen (the Swedish Public Employment Service), Lexicon and Luleå University of Technology are now starting a 45-week training package for those who have education and/or experience in IT. The goal is that after your participation, you will increase your chances of getting employment in the IT industry. To be able to apply for this training, you need to be registered with the Swedish Public Employment Service. We also want you to be a little extra curious about working, living and living in northern Sweden.
Facts
Target group:
Job seekers who have education and/or experience in IT or a strong interest, experience and knowledge in programming or other IT related areas. It is an advantage if you are interested in working, living and staying in northern Sweden after completing your education.
Language skills:
Language skills equivalent to Swedish as a second language 2 (SVA 2) and knowledge of English at upper secondary level or equivalent.
Scope:
A training package of 45 weeks, including the possibility of an internship for 4 weeks.

Luleå University of Technology in cooperation with Lexicon.
Other
The training is a labor market training in cooperation with the IT industry in northern Sweden. Referral to the program is via the Swedish Public Employment Service. The education is completely remote. You need access to a computer and an internet connection.

Registration opens in February 2024.
About the training package
Step 1 (February 19, 2024) Registration of interest in the training. The Public Employment Service assesses who can start the training.
Step 2 (March 10, 2024) The application portal closes.
Stage3 (March 18-22, 2024) Web test period with assessment of IT skills via Lexicon.
Stage4 (26 March - 12 April 2024) Selection period with labor market policy assessment
Stage5 (April 2-May 15, 2024) Lexicon testing and mapping (2 weeks)
Step 6 (May 16-October 2, 2024) IT training via Lexicon (18 weeks)
Step 7 (October 3 - February 26, 2025) Assignment training in Programming via Luleå University of Technology (21 weeks)
Step 8 (February 27-March 27, 2025) Internship opportunity at a company in northern Sweden (29 days)

About the assignment education via Luleå University of Technology
- The assignment training consists of four courses during 21 weeks.
- Participants receive higher education credits for each completed course.
- Teaching takes place remotely via Zoom and the Canvas teaching platform.
- The language of instruction is Swedish, but elements of English may occur.
- The assignment education contains courses adapted to the needs of the IT industry in programming and prepares you as a participant for a future professional life and provides knowledge in object-oriented programming through both theoretical and practical elements, logical thinking and problem solving and troubleshooting.
- The assignment training contains elements of agile project methodology, version management and test-driven development, which is applied in applied development projects with relevance to participating companies.
