Course content
You will get answers to questions such as: What are gender, equality, inclusion and diversity really about? You will develop an understanding of key concepts in gender, equality, inclusion and diversity and how they can be applied.
Structure
You need an internet connection and a computer, tablet or similar to take part in the course. During the course you will have access to short recorded lectures, texts to read, discussions to participate in and quizzes to complete. When you have gone through all parts of the course and completed the tasks, there is a certificate to print out. You can find the certificate under the finished courses. A description of how to find your certificate can be found at the end of the course.
In order to pass the course
That you have read the texts and watched the videos, that you have participated in the discussion thread and completed the quiz with approved results.
Teachers
Åsa Wikberg Nilsson is Professor of Design at Luleå University of Technology. With a passion for using design as a tool for change and strengthening ethics in design, she develops inclusive norm-critical/norm-creative design methods and solutions for a broader target group. With a strong belief in the creative power of design and making, Åsa collaborates with researchers, architects, designers and ordinary uncommon people to shape societal change.
Maria Udén is a Professor of Gender and Technology and works in the Design research area. Her research is at the interface between feminist philosophy of science and social and organizational change initiatives. She regularly teaches at undergraduate level for engineering students, as well as transdisciplinarily.
Lennart Pettersson is a lecturer in graphic design and in his research he is interested in the communicative values of the image and questions about how images are received and interpreted in different contexts.
