Lean Construction (grund)
With an increasing focus on sustainable development, a construction sector that is slowing down and recurring reports of lack of productivity, there is a need to increase competence in more modern working methods for management and control in the construction process. Lean Construction (basic) is a commissioned education from LTU Professional Education and open to anyone who wants to raise their competence in Lean Construction.

Course content
This course will provide you with the basics of Lean Construction including both theory and practical application. You will gain insight into applicable ways of working with concrete methods and tools aimed at increasing productivity and sustainability on the construction site. It is based on so-called Flipped class-room, where the participants take part in the provided theoretical knowledge on their own and where seminars deepen the knowledge through reflections and conversations.
Structure
The participants are expected to work independently with different modules on LTU's digital learning platform. This self-study phase comprises a total of 34 hours and involves reading texts, watching movies, and listening to podcasts related to the topic. In addition, participants will take part in online discussions to enrich their knowledge and exchange experiences with other course participants. There are four scheduled online meetings taking place via Zoom and lasting 90 minutes each. These interactive sessions are moderated by Kajsa Simu and aim to give participants the opportunity to ask questions, reflect on the material studied and share their own experiences.
The course ends with an individual assignment, where the participants will apply and demonstrate the knowledge they have acquired during the course.
