About the course
In autumn 2024, the course Mine Dams and Dam Safety will again be given. The course is organised by Luleå University of Technology (LTU) in collaboration with Svemin, and comprises six days divided into two sessions (three days each).

The course is intended for those who work with tailings dams in the mining industry, at consulting companies, contractors or at supervisory authorities.

Lectures are given by industry stakeholders from mining companies, consultants, universities and authorities. An overall project assignment is processed by the participants and study tasks must be answered. The project task extends over the two course sessions. Study visits to tailings dams (Aitik and Garpenberg) take place at both course sessions.
