Are you working to support innovation and entrepreneurship? This course will enable you to better support social innovation, i.e. innovative ways of tackling societal challenges and improving people's lives.

Innovation and business promoters at incubators, innovation offices and other organizations throughout Sweden.

Basic knowledge of Swedish and English.

You will learn
The course gives you an insight into Swedish and international research on social innovation, concrete examples of social innovation in different sectors of society, and practical tools to support the development of social innovations.
Course structure
The course is conducted entirely remotely, with three digital course meetings:
Meeting 1 (3 hours)
Theme: What is social innovation?
Course assignments: Literature reading before the course meeting (Bonnedahl et al. 2022).
Meeting2 (3 hours)
Theme: How can social innovation be supported?
Course tasks: Literature reading before the course meeting (Lindberg 2020), Completion of a practical homework assignment before the course meeting.
Meeting 3 (3 hours)
Theme: How do we go from theory to practice?
Course assignments: Completion of a practical homework assignment before the course meeting, Oral presentation at the course meeting.

Course coordinator
The course is led by Malin Lindberg, professor at Luleå University of Technology, who has many years of experience in studying and supporting social innovation in collaboration between academia, business and society.
