Luleå University of Technology is organizing the next Rockbursts and Seismicity symposium (RaSiM 11) which will be held in Lulea on August 24-29, 2025.
The aim of the symposium will be an exchange of scientific and practical knowledge and experiences related to all aspects of rockburst and mining-induced seismicity. The organizing committee is eager to continue to bring operational, technological and scientific experiences in these areas together and to help increasing the interaction between the industry and academia.
The symposium will include two days of workshops and short courses, three days of presentations and discussions, and one day of technical trips to a few different seismically active underground mines in Sweden.
Sunday August 24: Sponsor tabletops setup + courses and workshops
Monday August 25: Short courses and workshops
Tuesday August 26: Symposium
Wednesday August 27: Symposium
Thursday August 28: Symposium
Friday August 29: Technical Visits
The following topics are considered to be the most important for the technical presentations:
Strategic topics
- Risk assessment and mitigation
- Risk and hazard management and Control
- Indicators of large seismic events in mines
Tactical topics
- Seismic monitoring, Data analysis and interpretation
- Case studies of rockbursts and forensic analyses
- Non-seismic monitoring of stress and deformation in mines
- Rock support in areas with rockbust hazard
- Hydraulic fracturing and pre-conditioning
