Work with vision and goals for the future campus
The work on plans for Luleå's future campus is in full progress. Last week, representatives from the university and the landlord Akademiska hus gathered to develop a common vision and goal. This week, the work has continued to concretize the vision.
"Our goal is to build the new facilities as quickly as possible, with as little impact on staff and students as possible. Therefore, we try to maintain a high pace, even though it is a large construction project," says University Director Maria Lundgren.
At the end of November, Luleå University of Technology and Akademiska hus signed a letter of intent regarding the plans for the future campus in Luleå. In a first step, the parties will work on a common vision and goal. During the spring, the work will continue to include the development of a preliminary study, a time schedule, and a facility program. This means determining the areas needed for each respective activity.
"There are many involved in the work, including representatives for our learning environments, laboratory spaces, staff areas, and social spaces. This is crucial to creating attractive and functional premises. We also know that a time schedule is requested, so it has high priority," says Project leader Pernilla Hellberg.
At the end of January, the plan is for the steering committee to decide on the vision and goal. More information will be provided at that time.
