Awarded for Nit och redlighet i rikets tjänst
16 of the university's employees have received the merit badge Nit och redlighet i rikets tjänst, Nor. The employees were celebrated with a ceremony in Wibergsgården. “It has been fun most of the time,” says Örjan Johansson, Professor of Engineering Acoustics and one of the recipients.
Nit och redlighet i rikets tjänst is given to employees who have been employed by the State for at least 30 years. The first known presentation of the award took place in 1830. For their merit, employees can choose between a medal, wristwatch or art glass, and the gifts are presented by the rector and university director.
One of this year's recipients was Vice-Chancellor Birgitta Bergvall-Kåreborn. Eva Hamilton, Chair of the University's Board, was therefore on hand to present her with her gift.
