Hello colleague! Linda paves the way for our students into the professional life
Linda Ljungberg is a project manager at Samverkanskontoret and helps our students on their future journey.
What do you do at work?
"I work as a project manager in the Collaboration and Innovation/Career Centre department. My work is all about paving the way for students in various ways and supporting them in their careers.
At the Career Centre, we also work together with alumni relations. We are in the process of setting up a new alumni database to keep in touch with our alumni. The idea is for alumni to register to receive information about alumni gatherings around the country, information about the university's research on various socially relevant topics and various opportunities for collaboration. Last year we organised alumni meetings in Luleå, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Uppsala and Malmö.
In October, we will host an Alumni & Friends event at STUK, with a solid programme that includes a tour of the campus, a panel discussion on the green transition, the inauguration of the Alumni Wall of Fame and an award ceremony for the Alumni of the Year 2024. Some of the university's researchers will also briefly present their research.
What is the best thing about working at Collaboration and Innovation and Career Centre?
"The best thing about my job is that I have the opportunity to meet so many competent and committed students and to accompany them on their path to the future. My work is very varied and consists of both planning and running various events and career elements for the students, as well as working with employers in different industries to create contact surfaces between university students and the business/public sector. The best thing about working at Luleå University of Technology is the innovative environment and the breadth of competence of both students and employees."
What have you worked with previously?
"I have a study and vocational guidance degree from Umeå University and have also studied sociology, organization and leadership as well as project management. For 13 years, I ´ve worked within the Swedish public employment service, with several different assignments, as a guidance counselor, with matching/recruitment and as an education manager. I have also worked with study- and vocational guidance within Luleå Municipality. "
What do you do when not at work?
"Love to cook good food! I live right by the ice road, so there are usually many walks with the family's two dogs during winter. I also love skiing with my two daughters aged 19 and 14 and my husband. During summer we spend a lot of time in our cabin in Furuögrund."
