Safety walks on campus
Luleå University of Technology, together with the student unions, has once again started the safety walks on our campuses. These walks are an important part of the work to understand which environments our students feel safe and which can feel unsafe.
The first safety walk took place in Luleå on October 28. It was attended by the student unions, Akademiska hus, the Department of Property and Service and representatives of the student department.
"Our main focus is safety and security and lighting is an important part of that", says Iréne Lernstål Askenryd, Head of Facilities Management at Luleå University of Technology.
In Piteå, the safety walk was carried out on November 7 and the Police and representatives from Piteå municipality also participated.
"We will carry out safety walks on all campuses, the next in turn is Skellefteå after Christmas", says Iréne Lernstål Askenryd.
Survey for students
There is now a survey that the Student Union of Technology has developed, where you can answer various questions about safety on your particular campus. You can find the survey at the bottom of this article.
"It is very important for us to get feedback from our members and this survey helps us in our work," says Eugen Larsson, the main student protection officer.
Safe at LTU
We would like to know how you feel about safety and security on our campuses. Your responses will help us understand what factors influence your sense of safety and provide us with valuable information to improve the campus environment for all students.
Your feedback is important in creating a safer and more welcoming environment on campus.
Thank you for contributing to our efforts to improve safety!
