Kristiina Oksman new member of the Swedish Research Council
Kristiina Oksman, Professor of Wood and Bionanocomposites at Luleå University of Technology, has been elected as a new member of the Swedish Research Council's Scientific Council for Natural and Engineering Sciences. During the next three years, she will play a key role in promoting and shaping Swedish research in the field.
The Swedish Research Council is Sweden's largest funder of basic research and is responsible for supporting and developing Swedish research at the highest level. Kristiina Oksman is looking forward to her new assignment and the responsibility that comes with being part of this important institution for Swedish research.

Internationally recognized
Kristiina Oksman is internationally recognized for her research in wood and bionanocomposites, a field focused on developing sustainable materials that can replace fossil alternatives. Her work is of great importance for future environmentally friendly material solutions.
"Research in sustainable materials is crucial for our future. As a member of the Scientific Council, I hope to be able to contribute with my experience and support research that drives development forward," says Kristiina Oksman.
Kristiina Oksman is one of eight new members elected to the Scientific and Technical Council for the period 2025-2027.
