New cybersecurity program attracts international students
Application statistics for the fall semester's international and arts programs are in. The highest number of applicants among programs aimed at international students was received by our brand new Master's program in Cybersecurity with no less than 269 first-time applicants for 20 distance places and 92 applicants for 10 campus places.
"The subject is very attractive and the skills shortage is really big, but we are still very pleased that students from near and far choose to apply to us," says Professor and Chair of Cyber Security Karl Andersson.
At the advanced level, in addition to cybersecurity, the programs Applied AI, International Business, Data Science, and Space Science and Technology received a larger number of applicants this year compared to last year. At the undergraduate level, the sustainable mineral extraction program and the music and acting programs saw positive developments.
"We are pleased to see many positive application figures. At the same time, we are aware of the challenges faced by many international applicants, both in terms of passing the eligibility check and obtaining a residence permit," says Brian Wernicke, Head of Unit for Education and Research Planning.
