"Our goal is to make the outdoors accessible to everyone"

StiL Frilufts is one of the 21 associations within StiL Sportcenter - and one of the most adventurous! StiL Frilufts makes outdoor life easy and accessible by offering both equipment and exciting trips for anyone who wants to get out and discover nature.

Hello student association! Who are you?
- We are StiL Frilufts! A section under StiL Sportcenter. Currently we consist of 13 people who are all passionate about outdoor life and our goal is to make outdoor life accessible to everyone!

We release around 10 new trips twice a year, trips for the fall semester and trips for the spring semester - it's adventures to forests, mountains, lakes and everything in between! Whether you are an experienced walker or have never set foot in a forest before, you are most welcome to join us. All our trips are graded on a fitness and experience scale so you can easily find a trip that suits you. You don't need to know anyone from before, we always become a good bunch on our trips and new friends and good memories are a fact!

No equipment? No problem; We have a rental shop together with cross-country and running where you can rent all the equipment you might need, it is open every Thursday between 16.30-18 and should the need be at other times you can contact us.

How often do you meet?
- Our trips take place basically all year round. Fall trips are released in May and held between August and November, while spring trips are released in December and held between January and May.

To keep up to date on what we are doing, we recommend that you follow our social media. We are active on both Facebook and Instagram. There will be updates from held and upcoming trips, free lectures, food recipes, outdoor-related tips, leader presentations and everything in between.

What activities do you have?
- Everything from hiking to canoeing to skiing! We are also happy to receive suggestions for desired trips!

To highlight our spring trips, here's a taste of what's on offer. It is a wide range that offers everything from crosskarting on ice in Ebbenjarka, ski touring in Ahkkafjällen, long-distance skating in the Luleå archipelago, winter camping in a military tent, spring hiking on the High Coast, ice climbing, dog sledding, fat biking, western riding or why not a trip to one of Norway's coolest caves?

How do you become a member?
- The trips are easily booked via our website and as we have a limited number of places, it is first come, first served. If the trip is fully booked, you can sign up for our reserve list free of charge via a button on the website. In order to book our trips, you need to pay a membership with StiL, it is SEK 195 / year and in addition to the membership there is a cost for each booked trip. This price varies depending on the length of the trip, mode of travel, accommodation or other things included. Membership is all you need, which means that even non-students can book with us!

To become a member of our section, i.e. a leader in StiL Frilufts, you participate in our recruitment evening that takes place once or twice a year.

What is the best thing about your association?
- The variety and the community. There is something for everyone. Through our association we create an easy way for people to take part in outdoor life and we encourage everyone to participate in our adventures. To take the chance to go out in Norrland's incredible nature, but also the chance to challenge yourself, learn new things and grow as a person!
