In memory of Kristina Söderholm

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our colleague, Kristina Söderholm, of Luleå University of Technology, following a period of illness. Kristina was not only an appreciated and well-liked colleague but also a true source of inspiration for us all. She leaves a big impression and a void that will be difficult to fill.

Kristina was a professor in History of Technology and a key member of the History research team in the Division of Social Sciences at the Department of Business, Technology, Arts and Society. Her passion for research was evident and together with her research team she made groundbreaking discoveries that have changed both European and global historiography. Her commitment to her subject area and new discoveries was a constant source of learning and inspiration for us all.

Kristina has been a part of Luleå University of Technology for many years and many of us have had the privilege of getting to know her and working with her. She has not only been a fantastic researcher but also a valuable friend and colleague.

A book of condolences will be available in the ETKS staff room in the Alfa building in the near future and will then be handed over to relatives. Everyone is welcome to write in the book.

In memory of Kristina, the university is therefore flying flags at half-mast today.
