Sara Nerpin awarded Female Technical Engineer of the Year 2025
Sara Nerpin, Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Computational Engineering at Luleå University of Technology, has been awarded Female Technical Engineer of the Year 2025. The award is presented within the framework of the national talent program Female Technical Engineer, which highlights female engineering students with the ambition to shape the technology of the future.
At the final gala on May 14, it was clear that this year's title was awarded to Sara Nerpin, who impressed the jury with her technical knowledge, social commitment and analytical acumen.
“It is a great honor to receive the Female Technical Engineer of the Year award. The program has given me the opportunity to develop, meet inspiring companies and participants and exchange valuable experiences. I am more motivated than ever to continue contributing to the field of engineering,” says Sara Nerpin.

A sustainable and real-world solution
As part of the final session, the participants each presented a case. Sara's solution stood out for its innovative approach and strong focus on sustainability. The jury described her work as a concrete and relevant contribution to a more sustainable Sweden.
“Sara has stood out with her ability to quickly understand complex contexts, ask the right questions and take every opportunity to develop. With her holistic approach, innovative thinking and technical excellence, she is an obvious winner,” the jury said.
In addition to the honor, Sara is awarded a tailor-made self-leadership program in collaboration with Nya Ledarskapet.
A program that shapes the technical leaders of the future
Female Technical Engineer is one of several initiatives from CoGig, and brings together female engineering students from all over Sweden every year. During the program, participants have the opportunity to get to know some of Sweden's most influential technology companies, through inspiration days, company visits and interviews.
CoGig is behind the program together with companies such as Boliden, LKAB, Epiroc, Vattenfall, Schneider Electric and Xylem - all with a common goal of promoting diversity, innovation and sustainable development in the technology industry.
