A first look at Pussen and the Centre Restaurant
Right now, several changes are under way at the Luleå campus to improve both the study environment and social spaces for students, staff, and visitors. Two major projects are in full swing: Pussen and the refurbishment of the centre restaurant area.
Pussen
Work is now well under way to develop the entrance park into a safe, accessible, and health-promoting space. The aim is to create an environment that invites both relaxation and social interaction all year round. The proposal is partly based on ideas and requests from students and staff and is intended to strengthen the campus as an attractive and inclusive meeting place where education, leisure, and culture come together.
The eastern part of the project has been slightly delayed due to more piling work than originally planned. The piling work is expected to be completed during week 34. The western part, however, is on schedule. The square area will be inspected on 15 August and Universitetsvägen is expected to reopen on 20 August.
The traditional seating event during the introduction period, which is usually held in the car park by Pussen, will this year take place in other parking areas.

Centre Restaurant
The refurbishment of the centre restaurant area is also in full progress. The project is based on the results of a student survey and a workshop with the student unions, which clearly highlighted the need for a vibrant, flexible, and pleasant environment where study and social gatherings can be combined.
The schedule has been delayed due to setbacks in the electrical work. The aim is for parts of the Centre Restaurant to be able to open in time for the start of the academic term on 1 September.
