VSS award enabled leadership course
Last year's VSS prize was awarded to Parvaneh Westerlund, Johanna Cinber and Sofi Larsson at the University Library for their successful work with the research data platform LTU Drive. Thanks to the prize money of SEK 50,000, they have been able to invest in further development in the form of a leadership course.
With the award for good development efforts in business support, also called the VSS award, the university management wants to recognize and encourage the importance of business support, good efforts and good cooperation that contribute to the university's development.
"It is important to make visible in a concrete way the contribution of operational support to the development of Luleå University of Technology, which the VSS Prize is a good channel for. In addition, it gives us an opportunity to celebrate success together and create pride in what we do," says University Director Maria Lundgren.
Johanna Cinber, Sofi Larsson and Parvaneh Westerlund from the University Library received last year's VSS Prize.
How have you used the prize money?
"We haven't planned for the entire sum yet, but part of it went to a leadership course, Leading without being a manager in the public sector, which was given by Offentliga utbildningar," says Sofi Larsson.
What has it meant to you to receive the award for development efforts in operational support?
"In terms of what the award has meant to us, it was naturally a boost to our self-confidence. Above all, we think that it made visible the role that the business support plays for LTU's processes to work as smoothly as possible. That is, the entire university became more aware that the business support works to develop solutions that benefit as many as possible," says Parvaneh Westerlund.
Nominate
All university employees and students can now nominate for this year's award for development efforts in business support. It is possible to nominate one or more candidates or groups who, through their efforts, commitment and cooperation, contribute to the university's development.
Nominate no later than September 30. The university management will then select the winner, who will be presented in the fall.
