Cecilia Wallmark at the center of Sweden's largest hydrogen meeting place

The Swedish Hydrogen Conference has quickly established itself as Sweden's most important meeting place for the hydrogen area and brings together actors from the entire industry. For the third year in a row, the conference will be opened by Cecilia Wallmark, director of Luleå University of Technology's hydrogen initiative CH2ESS.

The conference brings together actors from research, industry, society and politics. The aim is to strengthen Sweden's position in the ongoing transition of the energy and industrial sectors. In a short time, the conference has grown in both scope and importance and become an obvious national arena for discussions on the role of hydrogen in the energy system of the future.

"I am proud to be involved in bringing together the hydrogen industry in Sweden every year. The hydrogen conference fulfills an important function by offering both new knowledge and good opportunities to establish new contacts. The business of hydrogen as a fuel and raw material requires many actors involved along the value chain and from society to reach all the way to establishment and operation," says Cecilia Wallmark, associate professor of energy engineering and director of CH2ESS (Center for Hydrogen Energy Systems Sweden)

Focus on future needs

This year's conference has a special focus on the needs of the future. The discussions will focus more clearly than before on what is required for Sweden to maintain and strengthen its position at the forefront in the coming decade.

"In line with national goals to create particularly strong technology development areas and competitive products and services, this year's conference will include both inspiring speakers on the theme and a workshop where we together put into words what we can and need to do to maintain and strengthen Sweden at the forefront over, initially, a ten-year period," says Cecilia Wallmark.

The hydrogen conference will be held on December 10-11 at Münchenbryggeriet in Stockholm. The main organizer is Energiföretagen in collaboration with Energiforsk, Vätgas Sverige, Energigas Sverige, RISE Research Institutes of Sweden and Luleå University of Technology's hydrogen initiative CH2ESS.
