Review on artistic programmes submitted to the Vice-Chancellor
The external reviewers Pam Fredman and Anders Hultqvist have submitted their review on Luleå University of Technology's artistic programmes to the Vice-Chancellor. The reviewers propose to the Vice-Chancellor that all artistic programmes remain at their respective campuses but are brought together organisationally in a new department.
The subjects that the reviewers propose should be included in a new department are: Musical performance, Performing Arts, Design and Architecture, and Computer game education.
Vice-Chancellor Birgitta Bergvall-Kåreborn views the proposal positively and emphasises that the work will be continued in the direction of the review.
“It is a proposal that I believe in and will continue to work towards. Establishing a new department is a major undertaking and an extensive task that requires a thorough risk and impact analysis. My assessment is that I may have sufficient grounds to make a decision during 2026, and that a new department could, in that case, come into force at the turn of the year 2026/2027.”
