New head of subject in education
Luleå University of Technology welcomes Anette Bagger as the new head of subject in education at the department of health, education and technology (HLT). Anette sees great opportunities to further develop both research and teacher education through collaboration across the university.
Anette has a background as a primary and lower secondary school teacher in mathematics and science, as well as a special needs educator and vision adviser at the Swedish National Agency for Special Needs Education and Schools (SPSM).
"It is an honour to represent a subject that plays such an important role in today’s society and schools. It is also a privilege to join LTU, where there are many skilled and knowledgeable colleagues with whom to help shape the future of schools and teacher education." says Anette Bagger.
She particularly highlights the opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration between the educational sciences subjects and emphasises the importance of close interaction between research, education and collaboration.
"By having a well-functioning subject where research, education and collaboration go hand in hand, we can make a difference."
Anette describes issues concerning children’s right to a safe and supportive education as especially important within the field of education. She believes that both schools and teacher education are facing major changes where research, professional ethics and broad expertise will play an important role.
Her vision is for the subject of education at Luleå University of Technology to be nationally and internationally recognised, with strong research, teacher education and collaboration.
When Anette is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors and engaging in gardening and cultivation.
