New students were welcomed to the university
Yesterday, the new students for the fall semester were welcomed to Luleå University of Technology. The day began with a joint ceremony at Coop Norrbotten Arena.
During the ceremony, the students received information about the university, their studies and student life. They also learned more about what will happen during their first few weeks.
Afterwards, the students gathered in their groups. Together with student mentors and representatives from the student unions, they toured the campus and became familiar with their new surroundings.
The student mentors volunteer during the orientation period. They answer questions, organise activities and help the new students get to know one another. This support is especially important for those who are new to the city or do not know anyone yet.
Now, two weeks of information sessions, activities, and new encounters await before classes begin.
