Make your research visible
Researchers can use different tools to make themselves and their work more visible. Here are some examples of services that can increase the visibility of research and help with documenting and managing publications.
Create ORCID
ORCID, Open Researcher and Contributor ID, is a free international register where researchers can create a unique digital ID that links them to their research and activities. It follows you throughout your career, even if you change university, research area, name, or city.
The purpose of ORCID is to connect research results to the correct author and to support researchers in managing information across different systems. Many major publishers use ORCID in their pre-publication workflows, including Elsevier, Nature Publishing Group, Springer and Thomson Reuters. ORCID is also used by several research funding bodies in grant applications, such as the Swedish Research Council and Forte.

Getting an ORCID is easy. Register on their website by providing your name, email and a password.
Create ResearcherID
ResearcherID is a researcher identifier similar to ORCID. It is used to link the right publication to the right author and to distinguish researchers with similar names.
ResearcherID was originally created by Thomson Reuters but is now owned and maintained by Clarivate Analytics.

As a researcher, there are several ways to make yourself and your work more visible. One way is to use online tools that help share information about you and your research with the right audiences.
ResearchGate
ResearchGate is a social network for researchers. You can share your own work, follow the publications of others, communicate with colleagues, and view statistics about your research.

Wikipedia
Creating a Wikipedia article about yourself can increase your visibility, not only among researchers but also for the general public. Maintaining a Wikipedia article is also a good way to reduce the risk of misinformation about you and your research.
