LTU Participated in Euro Mine Expo 2026
The Centre of Advanced Mining and Metallurgy (CAMM) at Luleå University of
Technology participated in Euro Mine Expo 2026, one of Europe's leading mining trade shows and conferences, held in Skellefteå, Sweden, from 26-28 May.
The event brought together mining companies, technology providers, researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders from across the mining and minerals value chain to exchange knowledge, showcase innovations, and discuss the future of the industry.
Throughout the three-day event, CAMM welcomed visitors to its booth, where representatives
presented information about CAMM-SFO, CAMM-CRM, SUN – Natural resources for sustainability transitions, and research and education activities at Luleå University of Technology. The booth served as a meeting point for discussions on current research, emerging technologies, and opportunities for collaboration between academia and industry.
Euro Mine Expo 2026 attracted participants from around the world and highlighted key topics shaping the future of mining, including automation, electrification, digitalization, and resource efficiency. The event also hosted the Euro Mine Tech Talks conference, where industry leaders and experts shared insights into the latest technological developments, challenges, and innovations within the sector.
The expo provided valuable opportunities to connect with researchers, industry representatives, students, and other stakeholders interested in sustainable mining and metallurgy. The event facilitated knowledge exchange, strengthened existing relationships, and opened new possibilities for future collaboration and research partnerships.
The discussions held during the expo underscored the importance of close cooperation between academia and industry in addressing the challenges facing the mining and minerals sector. By participating in events such as Euro Mine Expo, CAMM continued to support innovation and contribute to the development of sustainable solutions for the future of mining and metallurgy.
