LTU participated in FEM 2025 in Levi, Finland
The Fennoscandian Exploration and Mining Conference (FEM 2025) gathered experts, researchers and industry representatives in Levi, Lapland, on October 28-30 to discuss the development of exploration and mining throughout Fennoscandia. Luleå University of Technology participated with several representatives from research, education and communication.
Participants included Tobias Bauer, Professor of Ore Geology and Scientific Director of the SUN initiative, who was also a member of the organizing committee and session chair for several sessions. Nils Jansson, Associate Professor of Ore Geology and Scientific Leader of CAMM CRM, also participated together with Jasmina Toromanovic, Senior Lecturer in Soil Mechanics. Master students Timothy Joe Halbrook and Serafim Katsifolis were also present, as well as Edita Bratanovic, CAMM's communications officer.
At the university's stand, information was presented about Luleå University of Technology's education and research, as well as CAMM (Center of Advanced Mining and Metallurgy), CAMM CRM, Swedish School of Mines and SUN - Natural Resources for Sustainability Transitions.
FEM 2025 continued to be an important meeting place for new collaborations and knowledge exchange in exploration and mining activities in the region.
