About CIAM
The Center for Intelligent Asset Management, at Luleå University of Technology, will promote and establish close collaboration between the university and external partners in industry and the public sector.
Cornerstones
CIAM's business model is based on four cornerstones:
- Collaboration and cooperation – CIAM provides a national platform for conducting research, development and innovation in sustainable asset management including acquisition, operation, maintenance and decommissioning.
- Research, development and innovation – CIAM conceptualises, initiates and implements research, development and innovation projects, including thesis work, and activities in the field of sustainable asset management including acquisition, operation and maintenance. These projects bring together research, development and innovation with industry benefits that create added value and innovation.
- Education and Lifelong Learning – CIAM conceptualises, initiates and implements skills development activities such as academic courses and commissioned training in the field of asset management including asset acquisition, operation and maintenance and offers members internship opportunities through Luleå University of Technology students.
- Knowledge dissemination – CIAM conceptualises, initiates and implements activities and contributes to knowledge dissemination and skills provision through doctoral theses, scientific and popular science publications, study visits, workshops, conferences, congresses, webinars, etc.
Goals and vision
Our goal is to create a leading, competitive national collaboration platform for research, development and innovation in sustainable asset management including acquisition, operation, maintenance and decommissioning. Furthermore, CIAM strives to be an internationally recognized platform for collaboration.
Our vision is to make Swedish industry a world leader in the development of productivity (processes, products and services) with a focus on sustainable asset management including new acquisition, operation, maintenance and decommissioning.
