Apply for funding for the UArctic Congress in the Faroe Islands!

The International Office is offering North2North Staff Funding (a grant) of SEK 15,000 to three individuals traveling to the UArctic Congress on May 26–29, 2026. The Early Bird registration deadline for the conference is March 31!
The University of the Arctic (UArctic) is a network of universities and other research institutions in the circumpolar North. The Centre for the Arctic and Antarctic at Luleå University of Technology manages the university’s membership in the network.
UArctic organizes a conference every two years. This year, the conference will take place in Tórshavn in the Faroe Islands.
When can you apply?
The application form will be open 1–30 April.
Who can apply?
Employees at Luleå University of Technology. Researchers or academic staff; administrative staff; participants in UArctic thematic networks; conference participants/panelists. In the selection and prioritization of applications, consideration should be given to the applicant’s employment level, where employees with a higher employment level (e.g., full-time) are given priority over those with a lower employment level.
How do you apply?
Those intending to travel to the UArctic Congress should purchase their ticket/book their travel as usual using the project number provided by their department. After that, an application for the grant should be submitted via the website.
Selection is based on the order of categories in the form:
- Priority 1: Official UArctic representative at Luleå University of Technology
- Priority 2: Participating presenter at the UArctic Congress
- Priority 3: Participant who will not be presenting at the conference
