In the In2Track3 project, Work Package WP3 and Task T3.4 "Simulations and Track Monitoring", a measurement system for tracks is being developed. Due to challenges with power supply and the need for flexibility, a portable energy harvester—which can be attached to a predetermined freight wagon—needs to be developed. This additional order includes the development of such an energy harvester.
The work constitutes a complement and implementation of previously powered measurements. The work includes conducting a risk analysis according to CSM-RA. The final result must be fully prepared for installation on a freight wagon, which is most easily achieved through actual installation but can also be demonstrated in other ways. The equipment must be capable of powering axle box acceleration measurements or similar, such as a simple computer with positioning and communication equipment. The equipment must withstand both summer and winter conditions. After extended operation, the system must be able to power measurement equipment for a limited time and be protected against both deep discharge and overcharging.
