Workshop marked new start for PRECISE
In November, two workshops were held that marked a clear new start for PRECISE at Luleå University of Technology. The purpose was to bring together researchers from all departments to jointly shape the future direction of innovative precision health.
The level of engagement was high and the breadth of perspectives clearly demonstrates the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in promoting health equity. The meetings discussed the most pressing societal challenges in precision health - both today and in the next 5-10 years.
In particular, participants highlighted the need to target interventions more accurately: the right action, for the right person, at the right time and in the right place. There were also challenges with implementation, sustainability and achieving and measuring long-term societal benefits. A central part of the discussions was also about the relevance and impact of PRECISE's two profile areas: Precise Digital Health Care and Healthy Spaces.
Participants identified what is needed for PRECISE to be visible in the national and international innovation system. It is about developing a unique profile, strengthening interdisciplinary competencies and collaborations, and making PRECISE a natural partner for regions, industry, the public sector and civil society.
The work will continue next year, when more workshops are planned - also with external partners. The results of the dialogues now form an important basis for PRECISE's continued development and for the ambition to become the first choice in innovative precision health.
