Stronger collaboration for Healthy Spaces and Digital Healthcare

Addressing the societal challenges of the future requires collaboration between academia, the public sector, industry and civil society. To support this, PRECISE has carried out a comprehensive mapping of key stakeholders across Sweden within its focus areas of Healthy Spaces and Timely Digital Healthcare.

The mapping provides an overview of researchers, organisations and societal actors working on issues related to health, living environments and digital healthcare. The results create new opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange and the development of solutions that can contribute to improved health and wellbeing.

A national overview

The mapping includes more than 2,500 researchers at 22 Swedish universities, 31 organisations and public-sector entities in Norrbotten and Västerbotten, 227 companies and 63 civil society organisations. It highlights where relevant expertise can be found and identifies stakeholders who can contribute to the development of future health and welfare solutions.

The analysis also shows that a number of researchers and companies operate across both of PRECISE's focus areas. These actors have particularly strong potential to contribute to new interdisciplinary collaborations and innovations.

Supporting development in northern Sweden

The findings demonstrate that northern Sweden has unique strengths that can contribute to research and innovation in health and digital healthcare. Luleå University of Technology's expertise in cold-climate and microclimate research complements other Swedish research environments and creates opportunities to generate knowledge in settings that differ from those found elsewhere in the country.

The mapping also highlights opportunities to strengthen collaboration with municipalities where the need for digital healthcare and welfare technology solutions is significant, while strategies and investments are still evolving.

From mapping to collaboration

The mapping forms part of PRECISE's long-term efforts to build strong partnerships around research and innovation. It provides a foundation that researchers, municipalities, regions, companies and civil society organisations can use to identify potential partners and develop joint initiatives within Healthy Spaces and Timely Digital Healthcare.

The next step is to continue engaging with organisations and stakeholders who want to contribute to the future of health and wellbeing.
