Project Meetings
To ensure strong collaboration and alignment across all partners, the SuMREE consortium regularly meets to review progress, exchange knowledge, and plan future activities.
Kick-off Meeting- Prague, Czech Republic
30 September - 3 October 2024
Host: Czech Geological Survey
The kick-off meeting brought together all project partners to present the objectives and initial progress of the different work packages. In addition to technical discussions, participants joined a field trip focusing on laterites and local geology, fostering scientific exchange and strengthening collaboration within the consortium.
Second Consortium Meeting- Huelva, Spain
22-24 September 2025
Host: Universidad de Huelva
The second consortium meeting focused on progress updates across all work packages. Field visits to the Rio Tinto area allowed participants to observe the DAS-treatment system in operation and discuss similarities and synergies between different SuMREE case studies.
These meetings ensure continuous alignment across the consortium and provide valuable opportunities to exchange results, identify synergies, and define next steps toward sustainable mining of rare earth elements in Europe.
