Design, Winter Maintenance, and Falls among Pedestrians
The purpose of the project is to compile knowledge about societal interventions aimed at preventing slipperiness caused by snow and ice, and to examine how different winter maintenance methods (such as surface materials, snow sweeping with salt, surface heating, and others) relate to injuries (both single-person accidents and collisions) as well as to walking patterns and habits.
This project relates to the theme Traffic Safety, with a focus on fall injuries and fall prevention, responsibility, organisation and working methods, and the socio-economic effects of these measures.
