Visualization of opportunities and obstacles to achieve sustainability goals in Norrbotten
This project aims to study and display the Norrbotten region's current situation regarding green transition and sustainable development goals (SDGs). This story map could be used in different ways for discussions about opportunities and obstacles the Norrbotten region and its municipalities faces in its pursuit of SDGs.
This six-month project, running from March to September 2024, is a collaboration between Länsstyrelsen Norrbotten and Luleå University of Technology.
It consists of three main phases:
- Identifying Priority SDGs: Through an online survey targeting key stakeholders within Norrbotten's municipalities, combined with a literature review, we identified which SDGs are of the highest priority to the region.
- Data Collection and Story Map Development: Relevant data was gathered to create an informative story map, to showcase the status of each SDGs within the region.
- Platform Demonstration and Feedback: Finally, we demonstrated the platform to stakeholders to gather additional data and ensure it aligns with the region’s needs for sustainable development planning.
