Harnessing the Potential of Aquatic and Terrestrial Resources for Applications towards Circular Economy.
In the field of Biomass Biorefinery our research activities are concentrated on developing and integrating sustainable processes to maximize the potential of lignocellulosic resources for innovative applications. Utilizing our continuous pilot-scale organosolv reactor, we fractionate a diverse range of biomass, including forest, agricultural, and agro-industrial residues, into its three primary polymer components: cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin. Our research projects encompass a wide array of technologies aimed at efficiently utilizing the obtained biomass components to produce fuels, materials, chemicals, and nutraceuticals, in alignment with the principles of the circular economy.
