This project aims to develop an advanced production system for high-value nutraceuticals by microalgae conversion of lignocellulosic biomass. Specifically, the project will develop organosolv and steam explosion methods for the pretreatment of woody biomass, followed by optimized saccharification to achieve optimal feedstock substrates for the heterotrophic and mixotrophic cultivation of microalgae.
