Petter Paulsen Thoresen defended his PhD

On the 20th of September, Petter Paulsen Thoresen defended his PhD thesis ”Structure and property oriented organosolv lignin extraction", with
Professor Carlos Orestes Martin Medina from Høgskolen i Innlandet (Norway) as opponent.

The Thesis’ aim was to elucidate on how specific extraction conditions influence the applicability and properties of the isolated lignins.

In the end, it was clear that: (1) Macromolecular properties dictate the dissolution process for the lignins, but also the antioxidative performance of the lignins when in solution.

This was seen alongside specific chemical trademarks of the different lignins.
