2nd Forum on Sustainable Concrete, Part 2: "Can concrete survive the Arctic and beyond?"
Researchers and practitioners from across the Nordic region come together for a one-day forum on sustainable concrete in extreme environments. With a focus on the Arctic and even outer space, the event explores how future concrete can be both durable and low-carbon under the toughest conditions.

Description:
The 2nd Forum on Sustainable Concrete is a one-day hybrid forum taking place on 10 June 2026 in Narvik, Norway, from 09:00 to 15:30.
The forum is organised within the framework of the Interreg NPA CATALIS project, which aims to strengthen the capacity of public authorities, research institutions, and infrastructure stakeholders across the Northern Periphery and Arctic region to better plan for and manage durable, low-carbon concrete solutions for coastal and offshore environments in Arctic and Atlantic conditions.
The forum brings together researchers, engineers and practitioners to explore two of the most demanding frontiers for concrete construction, the Arctic and outer space. Through presentations and debates, participants will examine sustainable and resilient concrete materials, extreme-environment performance, and the surprising connections between polar and extraterrestrial construction challenges.
Attendance is free of charge. The forum is open to researchers, practitioners, students and anyone with an interest in sustainable construction. Participants can attend join online via Zoom upon registration.
