Climate-reduced concrete through the cement industry's transition for future infrastructure and industrial establishments in cold climates

How far can we go in terms of climate mitigation with existing concrete technologies?
The construction and concrete industry is taking a holistic approach to climate-neutral concrete and, in collaboration with Fossil Free Sweden, has developed a Roadmap for climate-neutral concrete. The goal is that concrete for house construction by 2023 will have halved the climate impact and by 2030 climate-neutral concrete will be on the market. By 2045, all concrete will be climate neutral.
The project focuses on developing climate-reduced concrete with particular application to construction and industrial projects in the north. Opportunities for large reductions in climate impact while maintaining function and performance are investigated. In particular, early-stage properties are studied and how these affect the possibilities for construction in cold climates.
