Hosting capacity for new production and consumption of northern Sweden's transmission network, without and with new technology
This project is about transmission networks in Northern Sweden (voltage level 130 kV and higher), about limitations in these networks due to rapid increases in consumption and production, about methods to allow such rapid increases without the long lead times for building new overhead lines and substations, as well as limitations that exist even with such smart solutions.
The purpose of this project is to contribute to a broad understanding (among different stakeholders) on these issues. The following goals contribute to that purpose:
- Methods to quantify the transfer capacity and the hosting capacity for new production and consumption of existing transmission grids
- Methods for using, already during network planning, new technology (smart grids) to meet the need for increased transport capacity in the transmission grid
- Methods to quantify the hosting capacity for new production and consumption of smart transmission grids.
