CreativeTech North
This work package provides a deeper understanding of the long-term conditions for the gaming industry in northern Sweden.
CreativeTech North is a collaborative project (2026–2029) led by the Center for Distance-Bridging Technology (CDT), with Boden Business Park, Skellefteå Science City, Boden Business Park, and the Municipality of Umeå as partners. The main funders are the European Regional Development Fund (Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth), Region Norrbotten, Region Västerbotten, and all participating partners.
The aim of the project is to combine business-oriented initiatives for early validation, business development, investment readiness, and market presence with the systematic development of the financing ecosystem, as well as to strengthen the link between education, incubators, and the business community.
Klara Rydström, a postdoctoral researcher in human work science, is conducting research within one of the project’s work packages. This work package deepens the understanding of the long-term conditions for the gaming industry in northern Sweden. This is achieved by examining and analysing both people’s willingness and ability to enter, establish themselves, develop within, and remain in the gaming industry in northern Sweden, as well as the development of the gaming industry in other Swedish gaming regions. Within this framework, the focus also extends to issues of gender and inequality.
