Fossil-Free Steel Seminar in Oulu

Researchers from Luleå University of Technology (LTU) actively contributed to the 4th Seminar on Fossil-Free Steels, recently held at Hotel Lasaretti in Oulu and co-organised with the University of Oulu. The seminar is part of an ongoing collaboration between the two universities and also a part of the FINAST project at LTU.

Seminar topics

Several presentations addressed key FINAST research areas, including fossil-free steelmaking routes, bio-based reductants, utilization of steel slags, advanced materials characterization, and modelling of sustainable steel processes. The seminar provided an important forum for sharing recent scientific results and for strengthening research collaboration in support of the transition to climate-neutral steel production.

Through its participation in the seminar, the FINAST project continues to contribute to international knowledge exchange and to the development of sustainable steel technologies.
