Tribology Days at SSAB
This year’s Tribology Days were hosted by SSAB in Oxelösund. Over two days, presentations were given on current tribology research and industrial applications. Some focused on steel and tribology, others on new surface treatments, energy-efficient methods for condition monitoring, and state-of-the-art surface analysis equipment.
Energy and material efficiency were recurring themes, reflecting that Tribology Days is part of our Efficiency First! initiative, which aims to minimise material and energy losses.
We extend our sincere thanks to our alumni Patric Waara and Dan Forsström, and their colleagues, for hosting Tribology Days and for the highly informative visit to SSAB’s rolling mill, providing valuable insights into their transition towards the production of fossil-free steel.
