International Congress and Workshop on Industrial AI and eMaintenance – IAI2025
IAI2025 took place at Clarion Sense Hotel in Luleå on May 13–15, 2025. Below is a summary of the event.
About the Congress
This congress will focus on industrial artificial intelligence, or IAI. The emergence of industrial AI applications holds immense promise for achieving excellence and cost-efficiency in the operation and maintenance of industrial assets.
The 21st century has seen remarkable progress in Artificial Intelligence and digital technologies, with applications in a variety of industries such as railways, aerospace, energy, construction, pulp & paper, manufacturing, process industry, and defence industry.
To bring insight into ongoing academic and industrial initiatives and provide an outlook to the future challenges and potential, IAI2025 aims to gather academia and industries to share knowledge, experiences, and achievements in intelligent asset management, operation, and maintenance empowered by Industrial Artificial Intelligence (IAI) and digitalisation. The emergence of industrial AI applications holds tremendous promise in achieving excellence and cost-effectiveness in operating and maintaining industrial assets.
Opportunities in Industrial AI exist in many industries; aerospace, railways, mining, construction, process industry etc. Its development is powered by several trends: the Internet of Things (IoT); the increasing convergence between OT (operational technologies) and IT (information technologies); last but not least, the unabated fast-paced developments of advanced analytics.
However, numerous technical and organizational challenges to the widespread development of industrial AI still exist. This congress intends to explore both opportunities and challenges and foster fruitful discussions between AI creators and industrial practitioners.
This congress is dedicated to both academy and industry to provide an excellent platform for collaboration by providing a forum for exchanging ideas and networking.
In addition to interesting workshops, technical programmes and events, delegates will be able to enjoy some of the fascinating attractions of Swedish Lapland, including the Luleå archipelago and the Arctic Circle.
